How Is Mounjaro Taken?
Mounjaro is administered once weekly using a pre-filled KwikPen. Always follow the patient leaflet and the instructions provided by your pharmacist.
Weekly Treatment
Follow the Supplied Instructions Carefully
Each Mounjaro KwikPen contains four weekly doses. A new compatible needle should be used for every injection.

Choose a Weekly Treatment Day
Use Mounjaro once a week, preferably on the same day each week. It may be taken at any time of day, with or without food.
Prepare the KwikPen
Read the supplied instructions before use. Attach a new compatible needle and prepare the pen exactly as directed.
Inject Under the Skin
Inject under the skin of the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Rotate the injection site rather than using the same area repeatedly.
Remove and Dispose of the Needle
Remove the needle after every injection and place it in an appropriate sharps container. Store the pen as instructed.
Important treatment guidance
Never share your Mounjaro KwikPen or needles with another person. Needles are not included with the pen. Contact the pharmacist when you are unsure how to prepare, inject or store your treatment.

Do not take a double dose. At least three days must pass

Pregnancy
Mounjaro should not be used during pregnancy. Tell the pharmacist if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning pregnancy.
Breastfeeding
Tell the pharmacist if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed before requesting treatment.
Oral Contraception
An additional barrier method or a non-oral contraceptive method may be advised for four weeks after starting Mounjaro and for four weeks after every dose increase.
